Hello LTTF, just wondering about this.

i have a motherboard and CPU, but I do not have a case yet.

i was wondering if I could place the CPU into the motherboard and place the motherboard back into its anti static bag/box. Will both components be safe?

Cardboard and wood are good options

But the antistatic bag it came in is probably better, but NEVER place any components on the outside of the static bag. It might damage the components.

What I meant was since I only have a MB and CPU, is it okay for me to store the CPU into the socket and place the board back into the anti-static bag then back into the box. Then place the box into my bag

do not use the anti-static bag for any powered on support.

just the mobo box is fine enough. some anti-static bags have actual traces and can short the device(s).

best to keep the parts apart until the system can be fully assembled and used. too many variables to damage.
