so im modding an old IBM system for an ITX system (going well so far)

the biggest issue i am having is the PSU. its 20 pin instead of 24pin unfortunately and its crap anyway.

all i am looking for is a psu in this form factor with a 24pin. i dont need 80plus or anything like that. (all it needs is like 100w)

if anybody knows what this form factor is called or where i can find a replacement that would be great :)

also side note small form factor sata floppy drives?

if this is a showstopper you're not modding correctly ;)

although, doubt you're gonna find a fititng replacement for that thing :P

i didnt say it was a show stoper. i could mod this psu and use a molex to get the pins i need but i dont want to do that if i dont have to. especicaly since this psu is 14 years old or something.

i was more so guessing in the direction of cutting a standard size power supply hole in the case.

na it would hit the motherboard if i did that. i might be able to use a slim like psu though.

looks like SFX should be okay, there's some decent SFX units out there to consider.

the thing with these power supplies you have on hand is most of the time they're completely fine, but the more you go beyond what the manufacturer intended, the more chance something goes wrong dramatically.

Sfx or 1u

1u maybe but sfx wont work. it cant draw air from the top of the psu it has to draw it from the front.

That form factor is called "Only used by some models of IBM form factor". :)

It's not a standard form factor.

If it still works, you can get a 20-pin to 24-pin adapter. You can also get MOLEX to SATA adapters.

There are no SATA floppy drives.

Either proprietary or BTX. Considering this was made for a server, it was more than likely designed to cut on space for other stuff.
