From my experience with the GTX 950, CUDA is faster.

 

EDIT: That's from Adobe Premiere, not Vegas.

Linus did a video on this. Used many different GPUs and clocked them against one another. Unfortunately they just used Premiere and not AE which is much more GPU heavy.

 

In the end, iirc, having any video card improved over CPU only, however for basic video editing with little to no 3D or effects or color correction, having a 750 or 980ti or any AMD card, there was little difference for the money between different cards.
