Writing up a business plan to present next week to open up a new computer store here in Seattle.

My now ex-company was bought out & finalized yesterday leaving me with a bit of capital to play with.

My plan is to overtake most companies (I'm a bad guy, I know) to become the larger & best known shop around.

I've got a 3,750 sq ft building to play with and will be the only company around actually selling components & peripherals (cases, headsets, mice, hardware, watercooling, etc) and offering repairs and builds.

But.. I don't know what to name the damn store. It's different starting a company vs buying an already established one like I did previously.

So what do you think guys... Any ideas? I can already predict a few people (by name) that will post something dumb =/

Is there something about Seattle everyone knows about other than the name? It could be something like Seattle Hardware HQ or Tech World shop or Tech Paradise or We Have Cookies....  TBH Cool Beans isn't a bad name at all, but I'm not sure if it's worth giving the actual CoolBeans 10% hahah

I like play on words with interesting logos.  One of my favourite graphics companies is called Cabbedge (the idea is they are edgy) and their logo is a carrot.

If you primary goal is to cater to the local people, I'd come up with something that identifies with Seattle in a way that clicks with the locals, something that they can own and then feel like they are included in a clique by using your services over the others.  Perceived exclusivity adds both value and acceptance.

I don't know jack about Seattle so I wont even try to offer a suggestion, but when it comes to branding what I mentioned is something I often try to express to my clients.

One more thing I forgot to mention, don't let ANYTHING about your competitor influence what you name or decide to do.  Focus on the fact that you have a value added service with a name that people can identify with and go with that a strength.  The other guys not only do not matter to you (build yourself up in order to be better rather than worrying about taking them down, not saying that you are doing that just saying in general) but they don't exist as far as you are concerned because you are here to serve people and give them a service they need, sell the outcome of what you have to offer and not just the service itself.

If you sell peace of mind, sell ease of use, sell confidence, rather than computer stuff, people will simply flock to you over time.  So maybe think about the outcome as an influence on the name and not just the service or product.

"Don't sell or assign a task, empower them with results."

Well if you started just selling PC's, you could use that with the tag line "The Fox ups your Clox"

Name it DAT! (.dat)

or WATT

or Dat..

or ill come with better ones..

so something like .dat System!

Actually that might be a good idea.    Do a play on a computer programing term.

OP my 2 cents is you need something easily googleable and with a available website.  You need something easy to remember and get to but also has a website name that is easy to remember and available.   Honesty you may want to share the address as something tied into that could be good too.  You want to make it easy for people to recognize you and know who you are and where you are. And a play on a computing term might work well for goggleability.

If you could incorporate that idea that you have products in stock that you can take hope that day, that would be good.  Few people want to go to a physical store to order something.  Stock things that people need on the spot and sell them at reasonable prices.  People joke about how overpriced cords and cables are, well they are because people will pay that when in a pinch.  Maybe you can offer things by the foot and sell that way.  You can easily make your own CATT5/6 cables,  rather than have predone ones, let people pick the color and shade and pay by the length.  You might be able to do the same with many other computer cables and cords and the like.   You want to offer a better option in a pinch, not just an over priced but available one there.

Intel Core i5 2400 - Corsair Vengeance 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 668MHz (9-9-9-24 - four strips) - ASUS P8Z68-V LE - GeForce GTX 660 Ti (MSI Power Edition) - 60GB Corsair Force 3 Boot drive with 2.5TB in a random nightmare of a configuration
