Project Dads 8 Hour Build

This build was a surpirise for my dad from my mum as he was coming back from overseas that day and she wanted it running when he walk in the door as a welcome home present.

As it says its a build i did in 8 hours for my dad. Only got finished photos as i didn't have time to do much else. I have kids and work commitments plus i had to travel 2 1/2 hours each way to get parts the previous day.

The build was for my 65 year old father who plays Flight Simulator X with heaps of skins and stuff. The budget was $1500 AUS .The key here was clean easy build with reliability and keep it cool when we have our hot 35 degree Celsius plus days.

Sleeving was done really quickly and looks like crap up close but at a distance looks fine and wasn't necessary but i had the stuff there and thought it would make the build look better.

I just want to show whats possible in a short amount of time if your not so worried about perfection and overclocking.

Wow, I'm surprised you were able to sleeve an entire PSU within the confines of that build scheduled post-4768-0-02396500-1380632430.gif

I edited the z97 to z 87 :D

As for temps didn't get to do a benchmark or anything as i didn't have time.  Sorry i didn't really check the temps at all but for some reason 31c sticks in my mind at idle. Not sure if this is true or not. When i visit my parents next i will check it and maybe run a benchmark on it if i have time. Like i said at the start my time is very limited due to work and kids.

Thankyou to everyone for your kind comments and i do have a i5 2500k prodigy build that im slowly doing when i have the funds.I also just picked up an old AMDx2-64 build that i might do a custom look for once i figure out whats wrong with it.

I want a pair of Gainward 660 Ti/760 Phantoms so bad. To get them however I would end up having to spend about $400-ish USD each on Ebay for them.
