Ok guys, I just got a new custom computer and I built it all and got Windows 10 to put on it. For some reason whenever I go into advanced options for installing Windows (because I don't have a previous version cause it's a brand new custom computer) and press next, it takes forever to load and it's been loading for like an hour. My drive shows up and I select it and press next and no errors appear so could someone help me with this. I am very frustrated with this and have been waiting all day just to get this thing working and I just need help. So anyone please help me.

Try using a different usb/dvd/floppy to install on. This feels like a bad usb. Also check the system with memtest. Most of the time i have issues with windows it was one of those 2 things.

Oh sorry I thought this was like a support thing heh wrong place. Thanks for telling me.

No problem I reported it and a Mod will move it to the correct place. ;)

On topic though, Please post your system specs this will help in diagnosing your problem.

I would shut down > double check all your connections > restart and check all your BIOS settings.

I see 2 possible issues, either your copy of Windows is corrupted or you have a hardware/driver issue. But that just a guess from the limited info you gave.

Well this is a brand new computer it dosent have Windows or anything on it so I can't download anything on it yet so I can't do memtest and I'm not upgrading or anything.

Memtest runs of a usb and runs in its own os. Put ubuntu on a usb drive and memtest will be an option.

<snip>

Make sure your HDD is set to achi in the Bios as @glitchmaster0001 mentioned.

Did you attempt to create a new partition?

If have done these already it is possible your dive is going bad or is bad.

Run format on the drive and check it for bad sectors. This will let you know.
