i5 6600k question

I've been thinking of selling my i5 3570k and my motherboard/ram to my little brother and then buying an i5 6600k, some ddr4 ram and a new mobo but i'm not sure which motherboard to get, or if i should even get an i5 6600k since there probably isn't much of a performance difference in gaming?

 

Can you guys recommend a solid motherboard to go with the 6600k ( i'll be overclocking ) (or even recommend something else)  Price isn't really an issue (try not to go super overboard though just some shit that works well by spending a few hundred dollars like $550-650 Canadian is a good starting point idk) and   i just want an i5 since i only game and play the more demanding games and new releases  

 

rest of my specs are gtx 980 ti,  750w seasonic gold  and 1tb ssd 

 

the reason to doing this upgrade is mostly to help out my brother get some cheaper parts of mine

MSI Z170 Gaming M5 is a solid board, stick to around that price and anything from MSI, Asus or Gigabyte will do you well.

that asus one was what i've been looking at just now as well!  My current board is from asus and i've never had any issues with it so they get my +1

I second the Asus z170-A. Asus earned my trust over the years.

 

My z97-A serves me very well, and well, I have a old system with an asus board.... From over 10 years ago, still works.
