Hello

I'm new to computer building.  I just built my new computer based on guides I watched from linus tech tips.  I have a 6600k on a EVGA FTW board.  No GPU yet (saving up).  Everything installed and worked without a hitch....but after a week my computer has started to lock up completely.  Usually when watching youtube/twitch.  I want to fix this myself, but I don't even know where to begin.  There is no log or blue screen that happens.  The computer just completely locks up and you can't type/move mouse or anything.  I have to hit the reset button and start over.  The computer doesn't seem to know it crashed either.  Once it loads up it's like nothing happened.

My only question is, what would you all do from here?  How do you go about diagnosing this without anywhere to start.

Thanks for any help you can give.

-Pond

I have both hwmonitor and openhardware.  Nothing is out of the norm.  even under load it doesn't get high.  I have the CPU water cooled with an h80i and several fans.

What temps specifically?

Try several different browsers (Edge, Firefox, Chrome and Vivaldi) and see if it still happens. If it only happens with one of the browsers, then you can start to diagnose further from there. As far as I know, Twitch still uses Flash for video and hasn't updated to HTML5 yet, so make sure your Flash is up to date. YouTube should switch to HTML5 if Flash is disabled/not installed. Make sure your iGPU drivers are up to date as well.

Since it's a relatively new build, a reinstallation of Windows wouldn't be a bad idea.

moved to troubleshooting

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.
