Looking for a new 65" 4KHD TV

So I'm shopping for a new 65" 4KHD (Maybe HD...but I figured it would be worth it to get 4K) TV for my parent's living room. I'm looking at newegg and this is what I found:

I don't want a curved TV and trying to stay under 1.6k for the price.

 

LG TV:

I'm kind of leaning towards to the 65" LG TV...

 

Right now we have my aunt's old Plasma TV which has a bizarre 1366 wide resolution and any attempt to feed the HDMI ports on it with HD signal from laptop causes the TV to lock up. haha.

Well I can tell you from personal experience with my mom's HD Samsung TV, that the smart software is horrendous. 

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

I'd lean towards the Samsung because of richer blacks and better contrast overall. Coming from a Plasma, you might find the LG's black level lackluster.

Yeah, we're still deciding if we plan to get a TV still...or keep waiting. haha. I wish I could get OLED, but it's way out of budget.

 

It's still between that LG or the Samsung though. haha.
