Dimm full, BIOS sees them, only uses half

Hey Linus,

I have a new crossblade ranger and want to put 32 gb of ram in it.  Have updated the bios and it sees all 4 slots are full but only uses 16 of the 32.  Can you help me?!? This is a common problem and have tried many options found online.

To let Linus gt a notification you have to use @LinusTech, but he may not get to your notification as he gets a lot of them.

 

Half of your ram could be bad check each dimm one at a time in th motherboard to make sure they work, if not make sure that your cpu can support 32Gb of ram.

What are the specs of the rest of your PC?

By the way, the chances of Linus himself seeing this message are very slim.

What OS do you have installed on it? Some Systems can only see up to X amount of RAM (i.e. Windows 7 Home Premium can only see 16gb max)
