Skyrim Mods for Enhancing Playthrough

I played a lot Skyrim for the first few months when it first came out but since haven't touched it. I wanna play through it again but this time around with mods and since I didn't play long enough for a lot to start coming out, I have no knowledge on the subject. So basically I'm just looking for mod recommendations, nothing crazy just stuff that enhances graphics, gameplay, and adds stuff that won't change the core game a whole lot. Also I have a system that can handle it so performance isn't an issue.

Well first of all I would recommend you to look into a mod manager, like Mod Organizer or Nexus Mod Manager. That is a must for Skyrim modding.

I would recommend Mod Organizer, since that is the only one I have used. Gopher has a great guide to set it up, once you have it, it's easy to use.

Second of all, you will want to install SKSE (Skyrim Script Extender, this is explained in the Gopher video too) and SkyUI too (I believe he briefly goes over this too). These two mods are often essential to make others mods work and the UI in SkyUI is much better than the vanilla UI  

 

A couple mods that I like to use are:

- Dual hand combo keys. This mod makes it so you can bind equipment/magic combinations to numbers on your keyboard. For example 1 will be your greatsword, 2 is your fast healing, 3 has some destruction magic, etc. 

- All the unofficial patches. There are four of them (for all three DLC's and the main one). These fix a lot of issues in Skyrim

- Roadsigns HD. Does what it says, it's just nice to be able to read the signs in Skyrim  

 

These are what I would definitely recommend. You can find them all on Nexus Mods.

You can also watch some Skyrim mod series back (Like that by MXR Mods or on Machinima) to find some more cool mods.

I'm actually interested in your 270+ list, I've been trying to achieve the perfect look over the past few weeks and I'm interested to see what yours looks like

Well keep in mind that every mod list is very personalized, but I'll send it later! I trimmed my own down to 220 or so from 270 for the sake of not throwing on too many scripts after one character got broken to the point of each save being 120MB. The list I have will still be 270+ though.

Nope, grab the legendary unofficial patch. There were some issues a while back with mods that require patchers:

Oh okay. I haven't modded Skyrim in a couple months now, so I didn't know there were issues with some mods.

Yeah, pretty much just a thing with perkus maximus. I think it related to the size of files, and perma is fucking massive. Idr exactly though, it's been a little while since I was hit with the error that caused me to research it.

Is Wrynstooth back up?  heard the author doesn't care if people want to share it amongst themselves, but no longer wants to spend their own time troubleshooting other peoples problems.

Interesting NPCs is fabulous, but a bit heavy on spoilers.  Would hold off until OP has completed a playthrough.

Thats what i wanted for my Skyrim too. Better Graphics and Gameplay Mechanics, but keep the overall Feeling of the Original.

 

I changed alot of Graphics, Weapon / Armor Crafting and UI stuff. All this Mods are from Nexus and the List works without Problems.

 

You have to get the Nexus Links yourself though
