Photo editing.

Just play around with the hue (to make it red) and after that with the levels to make the darks darker.

You can also add a faint (lower opacity) gradient with the bottom darker and the top lighter for effect too.

 

and just a quick tutorial on the triangle, cuz I can:

1. make the triangle 

2. copy said triangle

3. make said triangle black

4. (gaussian) blur it a bit

5. lower opacity

6. change the triangle's position equally to the right and below

What I can say now (since I am not a professional photo editor and this was one of my first times using levels) is that you don't want to make stuff too dark. adding highlights in the form of a white low opacity brush is good too.

I used Gimp to make this by the way.
