Hyper x cloud 2 dissapointment

EDIT IMPORTANT PLEASE READ:

The headphones I bought from Amazon turned out to be FAULTY, I tried my friends hyper x cloud 2's and they sounded 200 times better.

PLEASE check your headphones against another pair if possible.

HyperX was more then happy to replace them for me.

 

 

 

So the other day I decided I was going to upgrade from my slightly faulty Logitech g430's to a hyper x cloud 2.

Oh boy was that a mistake.

 

To start there is no/little bass from the headphones and the virtual 7.1 surround sound is awful. I can't pinpoint players like I used to be able to with the g430's.

When shooting the ak in csgo the sound is almost tinny.

 

Bare in mind I do not have a sound card but I had no problems with this when I had my Logitech g430s.

What would you do?

I can pin point people very well with the virtual surround sound the cloud 2 offers (although I find it easier to pin point people with normal stereo sounds as it's less tiring on my ears compared to surround sound as it creates a lot of unbearable pressures for my ears :/). It's normal for bass quality to go down hill pretty badly when any surround sound is turned on usually (unless it's actual surround sound then there's other speakers that fills in the missing bass).

It will take you a while to get used to the cloud 2s (took me a while as I switched from my dying blacksharks) till you're happy with the sound quality and when you go back to gamery bass heavy headsets, you'll find the sound quality to be atrocious.

Yup wanna fix this? Don't use that god awful USB amp thing. Just plug it directly into the audio jack and they sound amazing

your motherboard's onboard sound may be better in terms of sound quality if you don't care about the virtual surround sound which you can still do that with software.

Dont use the surround to me thats just some gimmicky thing they use to grab non tech savvy people. Its just the cloud ones with 7.1 adapter

TheCloud 2 is the best audio ive heard from a gaming headset thats affordable, the 7.1 is really well done, it almost sounds like yours maybe faulty.

And there May be no "real surround" headphones, as even the ones with multiple drivers use virtual, most of the time, though there May be exceptions.
