Sure!

MOBO: MSI B150 Gaming M3 (it's ATX, has some features onboard, adequate heatsinks in that price range, so should not overheat with i7)

Those aren't really good arguments to pick that board. Any H110 board should be enough.

CPU: Intel Core i7-6700 (non-k, cz no OC for sure)

Gaming doesn't need or utilize hyperthreading. So just get the i5-6500.

Not the i5-6400 because it looses too much frequency for a small price drop.

Not the i5-6600 because it gains a paltry 100MHz frequency for a bigger price increase.

GPU: MSI Gaming 970 4G (not 390, cz of temps and random bugs (not much, but still))

I think you're a bit too obsessed with temps. A Sapphire R9 390 will do the job better than the MSI GTX 970 while staying cool. Bugs? What bugs?

General reasons to pick an R9 390 over a GTX 970:

Slightly better DX11 performance

Significantly better DX12 performance

Double the VRAM without any segmentation nonsense.

RAM: Crucial DDR4 2 x 4GB 2133 MHz (cheapest RAM on reliable micron chips! ^^)

Not 2x4GB. Get a single 8GB stick. That way, upgrading to 16GB will be much easier.

And I recommend Kingston FURY or HyperX Fury Black because they have better CAS latency. :)

What? Why? A Caviar Blue or a Seagate should do the job just fine.

That's a bit too much. 500W is all you need.

You can get a FreeSync monitor at that price: ViewSonic VX2257-MHD or AOC G2260VWQ6.

ViewSonic VX2457-MHD if you want an affordable 24 inch FreeSync monitor.

Hello!! ^^

Friend asked me to build him a PC for gaming. He isn't familiar with PC hardware, so no CPU overclock and other fancy geeky stuff there. The purpose is to have good gaming performance and minimum maintenance.

MOBO: MSI B150 Gaming M3 (it's ATX, has some features onboard, adequate heatsinks in that price range, so should not overheat with i7)

CPU: Intel Core i7-6700 (non-k, cz no OC for sure)

GPU: MSI Gaming 970 4G (not 390, cz of temps and random bugs (not much, but still))

Cooler: Intel stock (will buy or find something better if stock will fail)

RAM: Crucial DDR4 2 x 4GB 2133 MHz (cheapest RAM on reliable micron chips! ^^)

HDD: Seagate surveillance 1TB

PSU: Seasonic S12ii-620

Monitor: BenQ GW2270

Any critics? :)

I'd swap the i7 for an i5, if he's only gaming. Also, i'd wait for the RX 480, instead of going for a GTX 970.

You could then probably fit in a cheap Crucial MX200/Samsung 850 EVO 120/250gb SSD for the OS.

If you can snatch one up quick after it releases at the end of the month, buy the RX 480. For the 8gb version, it will be $230 and probably have performance between the gtx 980 and the gtx 980ti

The problem is that this is an nVidia product and scoring any nVidia product a "zero" is also highly predictive of the number of nVidia products the reviewer will receive for review in the future.

I wasn't wrong. It's extremely rare that I am. I provided sources as well. Different devs can disagree. Further, we now have confirmed discrepancy from Twitter about he use of the pre-release 1080 driver in AMD's demo despite the release 1080 driver having been out a week prior.

You apparently haven't seen his responses to questions on YouTube. He is very condescending and aggressive in his comments with which there is little justification. He acts totally different in his videos. I don't necessarily care for this content style and there is nothing really unique about him or his channel. His endless dick jokes and toilet humor are annoying as well.

Mm thats right! Completely forgot about the 480 release date. But he want this PC so hard, that I doubd he will wait "that long" :D

Also, I'd also swap i7 for i5+ssd, but he told me that he wants an i7 and thats it))

Thanks for advices!! ^^

Everything is fine to me except see if a WD Caviar Blue 1TB is cheaper.

Maybe get his PC now and run off the iGPU and get the RX 480 when it releases.

Ask him why an i7, does he want to live stream, edit, record, if not, save his money and get an i5. That's about it.

Also, What bugs? And a good MSI, Sapphire or PowerColor 390 will perform just fine.

Oh wow, thanks! :D

Sadly, I can't just build it and say "take this"

Firstly, it was an i5 6500 and  h110 board. But then my frien told me that he wants to see i7 in his PC. H110 enough for i7?

Speaking about gpu: I doubt that sapphire will fit in the case :D He said, that he wants to try OC GPU. I own msi 390 and under OC it is 80+. Speaking about bugs - maybe it is only on my system, but sometimes, drivers just closes itself and when pc starts sometimes fans on gpu wont run at all until I fix this in afterburner. Because of that I'm a bit afraid putting it in his system :D but for me this gpu is just brilliant.

That seagate because of good price

Crucial 2x4 because I'll sell him mine :D

620 yeah, overkill, thanks

But I'll think about 390)

Thanks a lot for your reply!!!
