So my uncle has a THOMSON tg585v7 router/modem from Telmex or Infinitum, whatever they are called. Now this thing has a phone line for internet, so sad he still has not gotten fiber. But, what I want to know is if I can buy a router/modem that happens to have a phone line in, or have my uncle call the provider to see if he can get a new one. I live in the US btw.

Wait ADSL or Dial-Up internet

if ADSL a new router will be easy to find
If dial-Up will be damn near impossible to find one

I believe that it is ADSL

you should be able to find one quite easily. Simply Google adsl routers.

Well then I envy you, ADSL is so much faster than the copper lines we have in AUS. literally any aftermarket will work with it :P

Most ISP's have a supported device list. It would see if his ISP has one. That would be the only sure fire way to make sure you get the correct device.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
