Help with choosing some parts?

Hi all. I will be upgrading my PC in the near future after I have the money and here is what I will be using it for:

- Gaming, everything from Minecraft to AAA Titles including but not limited to BF1  / Battlefront / Dying Light and other very graphically intensive games.

- Video and Photo Editing: 1080p to 4K Pictures / Videos

- Heavy Duty Programs

I already have most of my build figured out. I need a good motherboard that's red/black to fit the theme and also supports 2133mhz DDR4 RAM, up to 32gb. Any suggestions? ( And It needs 4 RAM slots. )

What I have so far:

- Kingston HyperX Fury 4 x 8gb sticks (32gb Total)  2133mhz DDR4 (Black)
- Intel Core i7-4790k CPU (LGA 1150)
- Samsung 850 EVO 500gb 2.5-inch SATA SSD ( I already have like 3TB in spare HDD's and SSDs so that's all I want and need for storage )
- NZXT S340 Mid Tower Case CA-S340MB-GR Matte Black/Red
- Gigabyte GeForce GRX 980TI XTREME
- Corsair RM750x Fully Modular Power Supply

Just need a good motherboard now.

Total + Extras =

okay so you got a few options:

1- Get a GTX 1070 and a 1440p monitor as your CPU is good enough (but not excellent)

then wait for next gen CPUs

2- Get new CPU, mobo and RAM now in addition to above, 6700k/6600k + ddr4

(id sell ur old hardware then)

i7 4790K won't work with DDR4 RAM. You need a i7 6700K. Grab yourself a Z170 motherboard to overclock. A few boards are going for decent prices such as the MSI Z170A SLI PLUS and the ASUS Z170-A.

Grab yourself a GTX 1070 (not FE) instead of the GTX 980Ti. You should find it for cheaper new.

750W is absurdly overkill for one card, get a EVGA SuperNOVA 550 G2 instead. And do you really need 32GB of RAM? 16GB is more than enough.

CPU: Intel Core i7 4790K - 4.5 GHz | Motherboard: ASUS MAXIMUS VII HERO | RAM: 32GB Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3 | SSD: Samsung 850 EVO - 500GB | GPU: MSI GTX 980 Ti Gaming 6GB | PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G2 | Case: NZXT Phantom 530 | Cooling: CRYORIG R1 Ultimate | Monitor: ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q | Peripherals: Corsair Vengeance K70 and Razer DeathAdder

More RAM won't make that any faster. That's more dependent on the CPU.

Ah. How is 16gb then? Of 2133mhz DDR4?

More than enough for video editing. Don't see how it could ever exceed that.

kk. also: the 1080 is WAY more expensive and the 980 ti and 1080 are almost identical. http://www.game-debate.com/gpu/index.php?gid=2935&gid2=1701&compare=geforce-gtx-980-ti-6gb-vs-geforce-gtx-1080

Wouldn't call it close. The GTX 1080 is a good bit better.

I recommended a GTX 1070 BTW, not the GTX 1080.

Because it's GTX 980Ti performance for a good bit less. I consider the GTX 1070 to also be the better price/performance card.

That's not what I said.

I said that the GTX 1070 is a better value card for its price in comparison to the GTX 1080. The GTX 980Ti and GTX 1070 basically have the same performance, although it varies between certain games.
