Have a look on fleabay mate, plenty of it around.

Edit. You're looking for Dinoc. The genuine 3M stuff is more expensive but worth it.

Sadly, that does not surprise me at all. Many people just don't pay attention

and jump to conclusions which really shouldn't be jumped to. It's one of the

primary reason I stay away from FB. Never had an account, and as long as it's not

legally mandated (which, with us Swiss being pretty fond of our privacy, is not

very likely to happen any time soon) I most likely won't get one.

It does have its purposes, indeed. For me the downsides just haven't

been worth the upsides so far. Maybe that will change some day, but

for now I'm glad there's no compelling reason for me to join up.

Happy trolling! :D

Haha, I'm not looking forward to those. I still live with my dad (college student),

he's going to freak when he sees the first power bill with HELIOS up and running.

I have bought a power meter to measure how much of our bill gets caused by my

computers and will be paying for that myself, but still, the shock effect will

probably give his blood pressure a good bump for a few moments. :D

I'm curious to know how much more wattage it will actually use and what the cost of that amount of energy will be. I'm assuming that since you're only running one GPU, it'll still consume less power than a powerful single-CPU, SLI/CF system.

It's interesting because compared to many other things in a household, computers don't actually draw that much energy. If you have an electric heater or a clothes-dryer, those will actually consume more power than a computer. I have an electric heater which outputs 2000W of heat. That's way more than any computer.

Currently it pulls max. ~550 W from the wall, depeding on the specific

workload. Yes, it's not that much compared to other things one can find

in the household, but running 24/7, it does add up. Haven't gotten my

first bill yet though, so don't know the cost yet.
