you probably cant put an new gpu in a notebook, it probably isn't the right size and it is really hard to find the 980 that fits in notebooks anyway. as for the ram but some sodimm ddr4 ram and slam it in, it should be pretty simple but might void your warranty.

Full size GPU won't fit inside laptop. You could get external dock for it. With most laptops changing parts that can't be accessed from bottom would void warranty of laptop. RAM is one thing you should be able to access from bottom.

Should be under your keyboard panel.

Most probably not, the notebook GTX 980 requires its own power cable as well. And most probably the space won't allow as well, as the GTX 980 MXM module is considerably larger.

Ok, seems like nVidia is making this harder to keep up. I didn't know there are mobile compatible versions of GTX980 available. I'm used to mobile chips being marked with M at the end. Apologies of that.

Bit reading on MSI's site and your laptop has MXM upgrade as possibility. However it seems that only vendors are allowed to perform it. That doesn't say that you couldn't if you can get 980. Problem is that I'm not sure if what @exercutor5 said is correct, and 980M and 980 are so different that you can't upgrade from M(obile) version to full version.

Just wait for the GTX 1080M GPU to be released in the future. Upgrade to that and you'll be golden. :D
