AMD and NVIDIA in same system?

I wanna learn game dev and so I thought I'd learn gameworks and gpuopen.

Will cards from both camps play nice together for this? I heard PhysX turns off if an AMD card is detected and I'm guessing similar things happen for other NVIDIA specific features.

Links would be appreciated.

It will be delegated to the CPU if a Nvidia GPu is not detected.

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

So in that case I don't really need an NVIDIA GPU to play around with PhysX...

Can the same be said for other effects from GameWorks?

Yeah that didn't answer my question.

Will I be able to run gameworks and gpuopen in their respective cards if I have both?

I honestly would throw a 2/4gb firepro and a 2/4gb old quadro, they should work out fine and work with opengl and other types of rendering programs with the physx but keep an eye on the PCIe lanes because that can cause some problems :(

600s are known to allow that. I'm gonna get vega/pascal

I understand that, but instead you could throw in something like a HD 7850 and add a gtx 660 or something. If you're going for 1 gpu I would recommend a gtx 690 because of the dual gpu. hope it works out mate.

Not an option. I have enough cash for vega/pascal. That's what I'm getting myself. I wanna know if I can use both gameworks and gpuopen on their respective cards if I have a vega and pascal card.

GPUopen and Gameworks are not exclusive to one vendor or the other.

Only stuff that does NOT work on AMD is PhysX and G-Sync. Similarily, everything but True Audio and Freesync that AMD can offer will work with Nvidia.

HBAO+, Hairworks, Waveworks, Lightworks or whatever its called all work on AMD just fine. Although sometimes at a higher then usual FPS cost due to Tesselation levels.

OK, both drivers are in.

Will GameWorks and GPUOpen run as expected? On their respective cards? Or will some stuff get relegated to the CPU?
