180ºF CPU

The CPU in my laptop is running at 180ºF...

If I'm running my computer 24/7 like this, will it start a fire? Will it kill my computer this year? (The laptop is given back to school at the end of the year)

That would be ~82C which isn't an issue if that's under load, while a bit warm the system will thermal throttle if it gets too hot, in general though as long as they are under 85-90C it won't have any issues.

Have you ever opened up the laptop and cleaned it out with compressed air? If it's only yours for the year, might not be worth your time if it's working just fine otherwise.

The temp is a little high, but safe

for most laptops, 82°c on the cpu is *acceptable*.
