This 287$ PC can run Witcher 3 at Low at 1080p and Ultra (though only 11 fps) at 480p. Yeah, we made a 287$ PC that runs Witcher 3 at Ultra (at 11 fps at 480p, should run at 1x1 Ultra 500fps)

The CPU can already overclock to 5.2 GHz with Water Cooling, and yet it has a very strong IGPU in it, which is capable for light gaming.

We got a fine motherboard, and 8 GB of RAM it has, which is pretty much fine.

The cheapest GTX 950 was the GPU that we got. It is good for medium to heavy gaming, and it shouldn't bottleneck the A6 5400K it has, and even if it does, it should be a minor bottleneck.

We actually got the storage, and yet made it under 300$. (The last one was 300$ and didn't have storage. But it was a bit better in performance.) And it's a SSD.

The case? A cheap one with a power supply included. If you're gonna overclock it, it's gonna still work, beacuse it has 67W that is leftover, just good for overclocking.

Thats....not really a worthwile gaming pc.

287$ could give you a nice 1080p experience though if you use used parts.

This computer can run pretty much every game at 1080p. And computers at that price are likely to not run everything at 1080p.

Bro, you could have gone with an Athlon 860K and still get better results for this price range. Or even go with an AMD Card like R7 370 or even go as low as a 360 like I have.

I didn't think of going with a 370 or 360, oh well, but the 860K is more expensive and ruins the price (under 300$). Just accept it, so many computers have this problem.

That is fair enough, but I live in UK and my whole build (on my profile page) cost me just £350 which is only £50 more expensive if you crunch the numbers.

The 860K is $70. You'd be right at your budget.

But you know what the flaw of your under-$300 build is? You don't have a power supply.

The GPU matters in Witcher 3, so it should perform around the same, but a bit more "inclined" to the worse side.

Since you haven't build it yet, where are links to benchmarks verifying your claims? I'm bit reluctant to believe that dual core CPU can run Witcher 3 (which is CPU intensive enough) 1080p with high or ultra settings. Also, I would ditch case and SSD for better PSU and 250Gb HDD. Witcher 3 and Windows will drain space fast.

Ultra at 11 fps at 480p (720 x 480).

Fine then, how many FPS does it bring with 1080p low settings?

Which was pretty much as I expected. It requires quad-core. A6-5400K isn't going to cut it.

uhm 11 fps will be hell along with 480p being horrible as well

if it gets 30 on low in witcher you still could consider making minor changes

you are way better off with used parts

It should get around 30 low on Witcher III.... seriously if you game normal (a few intensive games and a few Pentium 4-minimum games) it's probably gonna be very good.

Still waiting for benchmarks/reviews to verify this claim. I'm mostly worried about CPU not being able to handle things. It might well get 30fps with GPU but how stable that is and how much it will stutter when screen gets filled with events...

The CPU has a IGPU that is very strong (compared to other IGPU's). It is enough for light gaming.

You fail to understand me. It's dual core CPU. You would be using dedicated GPU for gaming anyway so having iGPU thats strong means nothing. As a dual core its weaker than any quad core if game is optimized for more cores.
