Legit email or not?

Hi,

I've received an email that looks suspicious but I'm not entirely sure as it's not junk. It states that my email account will be terminated and says I need to sign in to a link to cancel the termination. How concerned should I be?

It's fake. Don't click the link.

 

Click the dropdown arrow next to where their email is and you can see where it' really from.

This is the red flag. It's obviously fake.

its phishing, dont get into the trap

the sender address is shady enough

 

and never believe anyone telling you in a mail that your bank or anything is going to be terminated if you dont fill this form or click a link

Yeah it looked fishy. Tried to contact Microsoft themselves about it but it was a hassle leading to nowhere.

I can spot these a mile away, you only have to look at the spelling and grammar EG "This is a warning or your email will be terminated" makes no sense. Delete it.

The email itself is oddball. It doesn't need anything after no-reply -part. That would be mask for all automated emails. Second odd thing is that your supposed email is sensored. There would be no need to censor email which is being told to be terminated. Third odd thing is that it lacks line saying "If you didn't request this email or this isn't your email, ignore this message".

I don't come across enough scam emails to notice those. Thanks for the future reference!

I received something like this. And I use Gmail.  But this was like 3 months ago.

What you see there is the reply to address.  Anyone can change it to anything.

 

View the message headers.  That shud tell u.
