Cant control speed of my fans.

I have built a new PC recently, i have 6 fans in the case, i have tried to slow down the fans in the bios and using software such as speedfan and the gigabyte utility.

The fans keep running at full speed, it doesn't allow me to control them. This means my PC is very loud which is awful, i can hear it downstairs.

I have tried to update the bios to see if that fixes it but nothing works.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

What do you mean?

I have plugged the fans into the system fan headers and the cpu fan header.

Are you using PWM fans? Some Gigabyte boards have only two PWM enabled headers (CPU and CPU_OPT). That being said, Gigabytes software is crap. Speedfan works but need some advanced tweaking. I don't have LLT forums guide bookmarked for it, so you can try to follow my rough setup thingy Speedfan guide

None of my case fans display on speedfan, the only fan i can control using that program is the GPU fan.

Which mobo is it? GPU fan is the which isn't suppose to even show in Speedfan as controllable fan. Its usually controlled with MSI Afterburner and likes. The one fan you should see and be able to control is CPU fan. Rest of case fans should be detected if the headers they are on have control chips.

It should show all 3 case fan headers. Can you see fan rpms in BIOS?

Only the CPU fan, and System fan 3. Nothing else shows up.

I tried changing their mode to silent but they are still as loud.

Seems like fan control chips are broken. Sysfan3 you should be able to control with Speedfan. But Speedfan can't control anything that even BIOS doesn't see. You can also just disregard Gigabytes premade profiles, they only work with CPU fan headers. They work really nice there, but still.

Yeah, I'm out of ideas. You could contact Gigabytes support team. They have been helpful for me in the past.
