Recently (within 2016) my computer has been crashing completely while playing some games (discovered so far: Minecraft, Overwatch and Europa Universalis IV). Games which I was previously able to run perfectly (MC and EU4 I've had for years). It isn't crashing, however, in WoW, CS:GO and Gmod.

In the case of Overwatch, it crashes sometimes it overheats during a match, but mostly just after play of the game.

I believe it's overheating, but I'm not 100% sure because, feeling the underside of my laptop, there seem to be different "tipping points", and I would guess a set tipping point is a trait of overheating.

My laptop specs right off the box:
NP5105RE - S01AU
OS: Windows 8 (64b)
CPU: Intel Core i5 3230M
LCD: 15.6" HD(200n it ,Anti-Ref) UMS
VRAM: AMD HD8750M gDDR3 2GB
MEMORY: 8GB (DDR3 1600MHz/4G*2)
HDD: 1TB (5.4KR SATA)
ODD: None
WIRED: 1Gb LAN
COMMUNIC: 802.11 bgn (1X1) + BT4.0

Here's a photo of my current setup (usually the second monitor is on):

At one point I started putting baby wipes under my laptop to cool it down, but I've gotten through a pack already and it's time to get to the bottom of this.

I'm useless with computers so I don't know if old/faulty hardware is to blame or if it's software. Since the problem only occurred after updating to Windows 10 and I'd downloaded hundreds of useless programs, I reset my computer to factory. After testing minecraft (no longer have overwatch, but will buy soon) I discovered that It didn't work.

If anyone has any ideas as to what the problem is, or even better, how to fix it, please speak up I really don't want to buy a new computer.

It Can be overheating problem or something else...

Take it to repair shop to inspect it, after lots of gaming there's gonna be lots of dust in cooling area.

Try installing this. Run it in the background while you're playing games and then before you crash, jump into the program via the windows tray and right click on it then show/hide to open it back up. After that go to file >save report in the program, save it wherever then open that up and copy paste it here. That will give me some idea of what is overheating or causing problems otherwise.

I don't know when I'm about to crash though. I no longer have Overwatch, the Open Beta ran out. I still have Minecraft and EU4, but those crash at random times.

Just run it for a little while and then if it doesn't crash exit the game then save the report :)

Here's the report after ~2 hours of Minecraft without crash. (It didn't end up crashing)

Okay, looks like your temperatures are pretty high, but that's typical of a laptop like that, and they're not high enough for it to be shutting down/crashing because of that. Update drivers, take it in to a shop and see what they say, maybe consider doing a fresh install of Windows.
