I got MSI 2 x 980ti 6 BG version the pretty red and black ones with the flashing LEDs things.  My son keeps banging on about 1080ti.  I think he wants me to sell them while I can.  Why?

 

ps the PC is black with an i7 CUP and 16 BG Memory.

why? becase its a new card that is better than the 980ti, i see no need to upgrade the 980ti unless you're an enthusiast

unless you can get i full refund the place you bougth them i see so reason to take a hit, price wise.

dual 980 ti´s is still "ass" awesome as they were 1 month ago

You have 2x GTX 980 Ti, so you would need to buy 2x GTX 1080 to see any better performance.

And it would be like 20% at most.

 

GTX 1080 Ti won't be released that soon, and you will need to wait some time.

 

Yeah you can sell those 980 Ti(s) right now, and be without GPU for like 7 months, than buy GTX 1080 Ti.

But is it worth to be without GPU for so long, just to save maybe extra 150$ ?

While it wasn't a good idea to buy a 980 Ti in the last month or so you may as well keep them. Selling them to upgrade to 1080s will be a big loss and it's unlikely you need the extra performance.

Why?  If I was a kid again I'd be ragging on about the latest thing for no good reason too   Don't worry about it; you've got an awesome system and he might just look back and appreciate it one day

1080ti will most likely be worse or identical to 2x980ti
