Trash Computer

Yesterday I found an old computer (Dell Inspiron 530) sitting next to a dumpster so I appropriated it for myself. It is a little old but it still runs fine. I installed Ubuntu on it, but I realized that I already have a computer that I re-purposed for Ubuntu. I am not really sure what I should use it for other than a dedicated BOINC machine. Any suggestions? It has an Intel Core 2 Q6600, 2GB RAM, GeForce 9600 GT, 100 GB OCZ SSD, and a Fatal1ty 750W semi-modular PSU.

Hm that's actually decent assuming it's all fully functional.  It could play some older games fine, or maybe a server/NAS/media streaming machine?  Donate to charity/friend?  Resell?

I should have mentioned that I would not sell it, I was thinking more of what I could use it for, or strip it for parts. Or possibly donate it to someone.

• Upgrade the ram and GPU and make it your secondary PC or for a friend.
• Use it as a NAS
• Use it as your Linux box
• Give it to me!
