Too expensive honestly - it's a 1080, not a 1080 - the price being 650-700$ is an insult

You meant It's GTX 1080, not GTX 1080 Ti?

'Everything is worth what its purchaser will pay for it'.

Blame the people that were dumb enough to buy them at those prices.

Looks like I might end up actually using my 970s for the full duration of their 3 year warranty.

($400 USD < the price of a Titan) + (more powerful than a Titan) = Worth it

Blame your country for the prices, buy from US amazon

Even if you bought from the US Amazon they would charge you the import tax hence the 600 GBP price. In Greece the GTX1080 by Asus costs 879 Euros... terrible price.

I'd say the 1080 is terrible value just like every top of the line GPU and CPU. If you wait for the 1080 Ti or next Titan it will basically be the same thing.

Although much like the 980 vs Ti/Titan the 1080 will probably have better Performance/Watt...

Until AMD can get some marketshare back both high-end Nvidia GPUs and Intel CPUs will be heavily overpriced. It doesn't look like AMD is competing in the high end GPU segment anytime soon so the only "solution" is to buy the 1080 used when some hit the market.
