gtx 980 ti 2-way sli vs 1080

I was wondering if it would be more performance-per-dollar to buy two gtx980 ti cards in SLI (once the price drops because of the new 1080) or to buy the 1080.

I would get a 1080 either way, much less config headaches with single card solutions.

980TI SLI would be better. 980 SLI would be equivalent. I would go 980TI SLI. Also the cooler on the 1080 sucks.

980TI in SLI will always out perform a single 1080 in games that support SLI (most do - eventually). However, at this point I would lean towards a single 1080 or a reduced price 980TI and upgrade to 1080TI once available.
