So, you may have heard the rumor of GTX 1070 launching this June or July I forgot, I've reconsider my choice of Graphic card. This is my build for the next 4-5 years and then I think to myself, should I slap The GTX 1070 in there. Question is will it work, and is it worth it? The rumored price of GTX 1070 is $375 compared to GTX 970 $300.

1) Not a rumored price, confirmed price.

2) Not officially confirmed, but it's widely understood the 1070 is coming June 10th.

3) 1070 is already getting teased as having Titan X performance. Yes, it's worth.

But, can my system handle it? I'm aware that the power usage will be low so that's a checklist on the PSU, but what about the CPU?

You're just fine with all the parts. The 1070 won't be gimped by the i5.

So, basically no bottlenecking and shits like that?

It's an older processor, but I do not personally think it will bottleneck you, and it has enough PCIe lanes to support the 1070, so, all the more power to you.

Reference cards get released June 10th with the FE cards, custom coolers from board partners will have to be released at that companies discretion. I know that both PNY and Zotac have confirmed their cards, and that Gigabyte teased that they had their's available, but we don't have pictures of that one yet. Whether or not any of these cards will be available at launch? I cannot say, but don't expect more than a week or two after release before like, the MSI Twin-Frozr card gets released and shit.

Some games that are highly dependent on CPU performance will. That's a "CPU bottleneck," I guess, but it's expected (if not necessarily preferred) behavior. For instance, Cities: Skylines is CPU-bound once you reach a certain level of city complexity, pretty much no matter what CPU you're using.

I would have no problem putting a GTX 1070 in my own Core i5 system, and plan to eventually.

Great, even more time to get all the different parts separately and to see where we ended up. I kinda wanted an Asus Strix one but it all depends on the price and availability. If it turns out that the Reference card is cheaper than Gigabyte or Zotac like that I would go for the Reference. But thecatch is my setup is kinda all black and red but it's okay, anyway I'm seeing little possibility that the reference would be cheaper than the custom manifactured one.
