An AMD Build for $900

Go to solution Solved by Herman Mcpootis,

for 650 pounds, an AMD cpu, not a good idea, at least before zen arrives. AMD graphics card on the other hand is fine.

consider this:

get your OS from reddit/kinguin for $20-30 USD.

My friend has given me the task to build him a PC since i built my own rig not that long ago except there is a problem...

I was planning on building him this I3 build:

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/b3WQ3C

But he told me that the budget was too much and he needed to go with something around £600-£650($880-950 US) so that build  got flung out the window

I looked at some AMD Builds like this one here:

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/nsmrxY

Will this do as i have no idea what AMD processors are like and would like some help for AMD parts!

Thanks

You really shouldn't be building an AMD rig right now. Try shaving off costs on the i3 build. Does he really need an optical drive/wifi adapter? You can probably find equally good parts that are slightly cheaper to be able to fit within the budget

There is no need to go AMD, you can save up in the intel build by:

1-Getting a B150 board

2-A good but lower wattage power supply (650W is pure overkill for a R9 380 and an i3)

3-Ditching that useless drive unless he really need it

Ta da:

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Either of the intel builds suggested above would do.
I wouldn't purchase an AMD build.
