Rasberry pi folding?

titel says it al, is it posible? making one of them stacked rasberry pies may be verry power/cost effective way to fold? any idea's?

I heard that it was too weak to fold but im not sure. It would be awesome to have mutiple pi folding farms i would make one

I would say it is better to have one good folding PC

yes, was thinking that too, but i'm really tempted to buy some and play with them, but i dont have any idea's for projects...and i was thinking of a lego case

You are better off Folding on a Pentium 4

nah do not try this, the ppd on this will be very low. get a 4P machine or just make a good folding pc.

4P? my budget aint that big, just was thinking it would be price/watt/point effecient.... but looks like it wont be...

That looks very cool, but I agree with pretty much everyone else. I'm sure a single 2600k (or something cheaper) would outperform all those Pi's :P

I can't see it really doing much, also if you have a stack like that it certainly won't be cost effective.

And to further expand, the FAH team focus their efforts on the clients for mainstream hardware, that can also return the projects in a reasonable time. So, developing a client for something like a Pi, or the iPhone, or Andriod, would be time and resource consuming. Given that not a single current WU could actually be completed by one of these devices and many of them don't even support Floating Point calculations. Whole new Cores and projects would need to be developed. SO, in the end it would be a LOT of resource for what would probably amount to very little gain.

 

Personally, I rather them keep optimizing those current CPU and GPU clients. :)

your better of using a beagle born back because it has more compute power than the PI which is better in graphic processing.
