How guys, I already did one pc (cost me $550 and works amazing!) but I am going to be getting a second job this summer so I am thinking about building a new pc. It will be a gaming pc (I don't record or stream) I am a big MMO, RPG, and FPS player, I love battlefield (bf1 hype!), WoW, Skyrim and fallout 4, I have a operating system, keyboard, and mouse. I just got a brand new 2TB Hard Drive so maybe that could save me some money. I am running one monitor right now, I plan on getting a dual monitor set up in the future. I am looking to spend $1,000 but can spare $1,500 if it is worth it. Thanks!

I would switch the i5-6600k for a i5-4690k, a lot better single core performance and more bang for the buck.

Winning an argument with a woman step by step

step one - talk to her

step two - fight with her for 2 hours even if you are really right

step three - admit that she is right for the sake of your safety

step four - realize that you have accomplished nothing and she still thinks you were wrong and now she thinks you are even more stupid

GTX1080ti, I5-4690k, ASUS Z97 PRO-GAMER, 8GB DDR3 1600mhz, Hyper 212 EVO, Tt view 31 RGB.

Yes it is, you  get a lot more performance for a lot cheaper price. And it isn't hard

Well get like a 1080 or a 1070 (or polaris) as they all will be out by that time :D

Also, any problems with your current PC? Why don't you just upgrade it or something instead of having 2 PCs? (unless you require 2 then fair enough or don't like selling second hand Parts then having 2 makes sense :P).

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

the 6600k is skylake and the 4690k is haswell, and skylake has a 10% performance improvement over haswell. so what the hell are you talking about?

Whats the full name and would that be for the overclock machine? Two pc's would be useful as I go to college for network administration so having a pc dedicated to my cisco setup would be nice.

i'd personally forfeit overclocking to get a better gpu, but some people prefer to have overclocking so i added it in.

The i5-4690k has typically more overclocking headroom and it has one of the best single core performances out there.

Ehhhh...who made this BS up :D the i5-6600k is skylake where the i5 4690k is haswell (refresh) where skylake has around a 10-15% improvement on IPC compared to haswell so...don't see where you're getting 4690k>6600k for single core performance...also it's not more bang for the buck, the CPU may be a bit cheaper and the motherboard but DDR4 prices are literally the same as DDR3 now plus with the newer platform and slightly better performance overall with the 6600k, it's the better choice :D

First question...eh?

Fair enough, well polaris is coming out very soon with 1080/1070 being available so before deciding on any GPUs wait for those but the rest you can decide on right now :D

overall the 6600k is better but also costs more. (atleast in Finland)

But the i5 4690k needs to be running at like 4.5Ghz to match the 6600k running at like 4.2Ghz :P so more headroom=/=more performance :/
