check the type of m.2 of your ssd (B or M, by googling the serial number). 

probably a m.2 ssd by the looks of it.

I believe @mikat either just got one or is going to get one for a MacBook

Yeah, read the link the OP posted. Next to "Standard Hard Drive" it says HD Interface and says it's proprietary. Not to mention that it's not correctly keyed to a B or M m.2 pin layout lol

100% sure, i've done research on how to upgrade your macbook air with an m.2 ssd, and you need an adapter like this to make it work:

well kinda true, but my plan is:

get a Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB M.2

put it in my macbook air with an adapter which i posted the link to in the post above

put the old macbook air ssd in an enclosure so i have a really fast usb drive :)
