Oh my, believe it or not but I have. My query still stands being what exact type of m.2 ssd is this.

check the type of m.2 of your ssd (B or M, by googling the serial number).

probably a m.2 ssd by the looks of it.

it's an M.2 SSD.

I believe @mikat either just got one or is going to get one for a MacBook

It is an SSD for a mac. M.2 slot (mac only keying on the ssd)

ADapters

Edit: Just be aware you will need an apple device to be able to read the files as it is apple formatted.

Apple uses a proprietary connector that is similar to m.2 but not actually that type of connector.

Yeah, read the link the OP posted. Next to "Standard Hard Drive" it says HD Interface and says it's proprietary. Not to mention that it's not correctly keyed to a B or M m.2 pin layout lol

100% sure, i've done research on how to upgrade your macbook air with an m.2 ssd, and you need an adapter like this to make it work:

well kinda true, but my plan is:

get a Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB M.2

put it in my macbook air with an adapter which i posted the link to in the post above

put the old macbook air ssd in an enclosure so i have a really fast usb drive :)
