Hypothetically speaking, if someone was removing the cpu cooler and took their cpu out to clean the old thermal paste...and during that time they may or may not have let the cpu slip out their hands and it lightly landed on the socket pins on the edge...what are the chances this someone f@*ked up their mobo???

Again, hypothetically speaking, this someone checked the socket and saw no visibly bent pins. And when they put the cpu back in there was the normal amount of resistance when someone secure the cpu.

Please note: This someone has yet to taste the mobo because it is being shipped cross country soon...hypothetically.

"hypothetically" speaking if you don't see any bent pins and you have already put the cpu back in the the only way to test is to see if it turns on :D. There isn't much that could go wrong.

Winning an argument with a woman step by step

step one - talk to her

step two - fight with her for 2 hours even if you are really right

step three - admit that she is right for the sake of your safety

step four - realize that you have accomplished nothing and she still thinks you were wrong and now she thinks you are even more stupid

but there should've been some kind of extra resistance if the pins didn't line up right? Or would I not have been able to tell?

Maybe, I've never dropped my cpu into a socket ( thank god, it has been close tho) so I can't speak from experience but the pins are so thin I doubt there would have been much difference. How hard/high did the cpu drop ?

not much. This someone (>_>) lifted it out of the socket and it slipped back down on one end. So it didn't really fall but the bottom corner was touching the socket while the top part was still between my fingers.

Ahh then I doubt it has done any damage, just hope for the best and good things will happen!

Hypothetically that someone couldn't have been you, no way.

If it turns on, no harm done :D

Can't tell.

Let's hope *fingers crossed*. I won't have it back until mid-June. And I want to instantly rebuild it to play Far Harbor DLC...I'll be sad it I have to buy a new mobo and wait even longer (I already have been 'surviving' on a basic netbook for the past 2 weeks).

Nope, not me. This someone is some guy I know...hypothetically :3

Also btw - your sig is leaning towards being against Forum rules (no advertising YT/social media accounts). I would change it before the mods find you o.O. The PCPP link is fine tho

Good call thanks, I should take a look at that, I never normally look at terms and conditions xD
