Steam link or Shield TV

Hey everyone I was just wondering whether the steam link or shield tv would be a better purchase.

Assuming I can stream to the shield via gamestream which would you guys recommend?

 

Pros of Link:

Cheaper

Works with AMD GPU's

Basically get to use the full desktop

 

Pros of Shield:

Acts as chromecast

Native apps like Netflix, Hulu, etc.

4k60fps

Surround sound

Android TV apps

 

I don't really ever plan on using nvidia grid so that's not really a factor. Is there anything I'm missing?

Also if anyone actually owns a steam link or shield tv can you turn on the streaming from when the computer is on sleep?

Get the steam link unless you need the gaming features of the shield and grid.

If you just want to play pc games the steam link

 

if you want to use the android features of the Nvidia shield tv, get that, its great for emulators too

i personally would get the shield if you not on the amd side. i like the netflix thing and its nice to be able to play lighter games without the pc.
