Gpu Black doesnt match the Backplate

A bit over a month ago i bought a 980ti water block. the EK-FC980 GTX Ti TF5. I installed and have been liking it ever sense, then i ordered the backplate and installed it a week or two later. Today i was taking pictures of my computer and noticed that the gpu block isn't quite black, but more of a grey to black look. It doesnt match the backplate at all. I know that the backplate is like an anodized black metal and the gpu is an acetal which is a plastic material, but i don't understand if its supposed to be like that or not? is it a difference in material that's making it look different or was it a defect in the acetal color? I'm just curious since compared to the other black things in my system it doesnt really look black compared to my drives and the backplate.

thanks ive actually done way more work since the rad takes all the spots ive custom made a drive plate that goes just behind the side panel

Yea it is supposed to look that way (see my build).

 

I was kinda upset EK purposefully made the stock back-plate incompatible because it imho looks SO AMAZING.

 

 

My favorite looking backplate ever. Much nicer than the EK ones. O well.

acetal is not pure black, its really really dark gray

a gloss black backplate will look darker than it

if you want both to match I suggest painting them with the same spray paint

yea i really liked mine too, there is a mod that required gettin longer screws and drilling out the hole but id like to keep mine so that if i ever sale it, it can be changed back out. It is a very nice backplate tho.
