come on...if you're spending $3.5k, at lease get a 5820k and a x99 motherboard :P (or broadwell-e if IPC is something you care about)

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

It looks nice and all but I think you should get X99 and Broadwell-E (6800K?)

Looks nice, I always go with an air cooling, but that is just me. Although at this price point I would go for the X99 platform

x99 is not benefecial to me because i am a gamer and in fact the performance of x99 cpus are lower than skylakes in gaming

Hence why I said broadwell-e if you care about IPC...

Nope if you OC

Plus you are going to SLI, a higher-end CPU and Chipset is definitely going to benefit it

it has more cores and more lanes, and you can overclock them to the 4.4-4.6 Ghz range usually like the 6700k :)

games are beginning to use more and more cores so i'd still get x99

yes, the 6700k can also OC, if you're lucky you'll hit 5 Ghz, but the X99 CPUs are not that far off and they will benefit you in the long run (for example if you wanted to add a PCI-E SSD, you won't run at 100% speed because you only have 16 lanes on your 6700k, but with x99 you have 28 lanes or more, which is plenty :)

And? Broadwell had similar IPC as skylake so you can be rest assured a 6700k at the same clock speed as a broadwell-e, they broadwell-e will only be a bit slower but if it unleased all 6 cores and 12 threads, it will completely leave the 6700k in the dust.  Also, more PCI-e lanes so that means you can have a PCI-e 4x SSD without having to sacrifice one of your cards or bottlenecking the SSD.

almost all x99 motherboards are high in quality so their VRMs and what not are usually better than the z170 equivalents resulting in more stable overclocks :D
