How about this one? http://pcpartpicker.com/user/OnionRings/saved/mY2p99 went for an 8 core 4ghz, can't tell me that isn't strong enough for editing. And since no on board graphics I slapped on a cheap GT 630 which rates right above intel HD 4600. Yay or nay? Im not worried about the cards speeds, just the overall useful-ness and hold up of it, no ratings to tell if it exploded on anybody or stopped working.

Should I down the cpu a bit and go for a bit more beefy card instead?

That would be a perfect recording and editing pc. :)

If you want to save a few $ you could go with the FX-6300 and stay with the GT 630..

Remember the GPU will only give you faster rendering :)

I just made some changes and since you are going to render with the cpu then i would more say this build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/vcw8FT

it features the much newer i5 and DDR4 ram.

That looks good, price is still around my budget, will the graphics 530 be better then a gt 630?

Edit : My friend said rendering would be better with MORE sticks of ram rather then a big stick? If its not going to increase the speed say by like 30+ minutes, idc, Im not gonna go through all the work changing the mobo for 4 sticks of 2g just for like a few minutes difference.

Edit 2 : Btw thanks for reminding me ddr4 exists, I forgot that it would help with render speeds.

When you look at this they should performe the same approx, or the 530 may be a little better.

It is true that more sticks are better but then you have to go when lower latency and high Mhz for you to really gain anything :)

No problem, yeah it should help alot :)

Well thanks a ton man for all the help, I think I'll use your final build as long as the price of the parts don't go up in a few days when I buy it. In the mean time I messed with some elgato settings and noticed the encoder settings were set to my gpu and not my cpu so maybe my integrated are just so terrible it can't encode and decode the footage so I'm trying using my cpu now and see what happens.
