Mist Fan near PC okay?

Afrasiyab

Hi guys,

Just wanted to ask that is it okay to run a mist fan near PC? I'm running the mist thingy on low speed. So it just gives kinda cool air with minimal water drops. The fan is not exactly facing my PC, it throws the air towards me, sitting in front of the PC. But the PC has an intake fan in the front, so it could suck in some of that air right? So let me know if its okay to run the fan near my PC.

P.S: Can't afford an AC.

Here's a little rough graphical demonstration of how I'm sitting and where the fan is at. (NVM the drawing, it was created using MS Paint xD )

well i dont really know how bad this would be, its not good to get your computer wet but if you are really worried you could turn your fanns around and make it intake from the back and spit hot air out the front lol

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

My CPU Cooler is like a blowing shit ton of air through the back. I'll have to change it around too, that's a pain.
And yes, it's not actually wetting my PC lol
It just throws water droplets in the air (very few, running on low speed).
I can't survive without it xD It's 37 Degree Celsius here in my living room. (41-42 outside).

shouldn't be a problem unless it condenses and it shouldn't condense if I didn't totally fail at my physics course in school

PC components are rated for operating humidity anywhere from 80% to 95% (non-condensing) and I don't think you're in a middle of a tropical jungle

CPU: Intel i7 5820K @ 4.20 GHz | MotherboardMSI X99S SLI PLUS | RAM: Corsair LPX 16GB DDR4 @ 2666MHz | GPU: Sapphire R9 Fury (x2 CrossFire)
Storage: Samsung 950Pro 512GB // OCZ Vector150 240GB // Seagate 1TB | PSU: Seasonic 1050 Snow Silent | Case: NZXT H440 | Cooling: Nepton 240M
FireStrike // Extreme // Ultra // 8K // 16K

thats. thats really really hot. wow. well if you know the PC isnt sucking in any watter then its fine, you could also move it a bit or turn it a bit

You're right. I'm considering doing that. Btw the front intake is filtered, so if somehow it does condenses and turns into a water drop, it will be kinda blocked by the filter right?

was talking about humidity, cuz you know in tropical jungle like brazil in the actual jungle the humidity is close to 100% and it's condensing all the time

is it mesh or like a filter? if its a filter then your totaly fine if its mesh then i would atleast turn my PC or something

It's a proper filter than comes with the case. Like this: dustfilter.jpg

you have nothing to worry about,

typically motherboards are rated for up to 90% (non-condensing) humidity and even some of the hard drives are rated for operational 95% (non condensing) humidity and there's no way in hell you can achieve that with a simple mist fan

if you're really paranoid whack your user manual and spec sheet for all your components and look for Environmental specification and operating ranges

then get an air humidity monitor and put it on your desk

The humidity level right now is around 52%.
I think it won't go more than 80. During the Monsoon season, it may go high but not now.

HAHAHA, No I'm not.
My GPU (R9 390X)  runs at around 85-90 C during daytime, I don't even care xD.
