Second 980ti

So with the 1080 almost out (lol no I'm not going to ask if I should sell my 980ti) the price on a used 980ti will go down and become dirt cheap right? Because I want to upgrade my PC to a full atx board and an i7 so when my 980ti can't max games on 1080p I can throw a second one in like a year later for not that much money. This a good idea?

980 Ti can max any games in 1080p. Also depends on refresh rate of your monitor. But 60 FPS minimum for sure.

Define "dirt cheap".

You'll probably be able to get one cheaper, but not miraculously so.

I think in doing that, you'll be fine. A 980ti should be able to last you many more years of use especially since you play on 1080p. But it's up to you whether you want to buy another 980ti soon or in a year or so. I know they are going for ~400-450 right now on eBay, but if thats still too expensive fo you, just wait until it drops to even cheaper. I wouldn't expect it to drop below $390 USD within the next few months but hey... nobody knows, right?

Yup that will do..im expecting a huge price decrease...even for the titan x. Otherwise they cannot clear stocks of 980tis..nobody will buy them.

 

Now is the worst point of time to buy a card actually. The old ones havent decreased in price and the new ones are just around the corner...
