Is there a difference between these G-Sync settings?

I know that when G-Sync first came out it didn't work with windowed games, but now that it does I'm a little confused why there are two options here. Is there something about the first option that runs better as opposed to the second, if not, why is it there?

GSync can cause some issue/not work properly in certain games, sometimes only in Windowed mode. It's basically an option to avoid issues if you have them. I have Full screen and windowed enabled.

That's very likely there due to any possible compatibility issues that might come around when running windowed.
