DIS PC Desk | All-In Envy

AlexCom

Hello community,

This is my first official buildlog that I do.. so please let me know of any feedback. Here we go:

This is a project that I started about two years ago, and a few prototypes over and here it is! It`s a build I`m doing for a client, themed black, grey and green. I`ll show progress of cutting, drilling, painting, bending and all sorts of stuff that I do, maybe even a nice video montage if I don`t screw things up.

I`ll start with a naked photo.. of the desk !

As the Z170A XPOWER GAMING TITANIUM EDITION doesn`t have a I/O shield I modeled and 3d printed one! Painting it soon.

Testing the fit for the nVidia 980 video cards + the mobo + the PCI express cables.

Also, clean lines of Stainless Steel ^.^

I`ll update as soon as possible!

Have a great day,

Alex

@nmil thank you!

Today I was testing the airflow capabilities of the "All-In" with aircooling, both for the CPU and the GPU. Could not resist taking some shots of the new cables from http://www.icemodz.eu ! They are one of THE BEST sleeving company I have ever seen. I still need to train the cables, but they look great even just out of the box. Hope you enjoy!

Results are ok, glass is heating up a bit where the small cooler is blowing out the air, but I think that could be avoided with a AIO, if someone whats it with aircooling for the video cards.. regions where the GPU`s are are barely warm, but that is to be expected on air.

Hope you like the progress! Will be posting more soon.

Take care,

Alex

Thank you @Marine_Boy ! I really appreciate the follow!

After the aircooling test I removed all the hardware and started to get my hands a bit dirty with some drilling, still a bit more to do(like for the GPU`s and for some cables)... These will be the pump mounting holes. The original ones were for the old style of the pump, they will get covered up by the new style of pump mount. Props to EK Water Blocks for providing a hole drilling guide, saves the time of measuring.

Streamed the process of the mounting the waterblocks! Right card will stand of its "back", not like this, but I have to drill some holes before I can mount it like that, until then, here is a pic!

@rowanhazard Right card will be facing the other way(they will have custom backplate and front plate as well), then the bridge ports will be closer together. I hope to make custom sli bridges for future builds.

Have a good day,

Alex

Everything(almost) should be installed!

Just a quick test with the LED`s on, one LED is missing from the video card that is facing down. Will install that later on.

Hope you like the pics, I will have more tomorrow when it`s daylight (I don`t have studio lights :/ )

@Pbr38 yep, here it is (attached). When you print it, just to make sure 100% that it`s at the right scale, the object measures exactly 171.513mm in length.
