I'm waiting. It's obvious that Intel will be faster, but if I can get a 6-core hyper-threaded Haswell-IPC CPU for $300, I'm going for it. No questions asked.

If Zen does not perform well, I can always pick up an i7 or Xeon for under $250 at Microcenter.

Also, you're awful at trolling / "dank meme-ing." Leave it to the pros

A 6 core HT Haswell IPC for 300 is not happening. Sorry to break it to you

I'd be happy if zen is up to 2600k/sandybutts level performance wise, amd will probably always be behind, but if they could get to that level i'd buy one for sure, would be more than good enough for what i need, and hopefully cheap too~

a future with intel completely running the cpu market is a scary one :S

It'll definitely have six cores.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

At this rate AMD CPUs are bound to have 20 cores.... All running at 5ghz but still be leagues behind Intel... Poor AMD...Poor AMD.

Well it entirely depends on performance and when its delivered. Kabylake is likely going to be available first and its not clear what performance Zen is targeting on a single core basis. The current estimate from AMD puts it in the Haswell range of performance, which as Broadwell, Skylake and Kabylake all coming after it so its pretty far behind already. It looks like again AMD might be playing the more cores market approach but its all completely speculation because we have exactly 0 benchmarks on which to base either decision.

The only people who could vote one way or the other are by definition fans boys, they don't care about which is actually better only which company it comes from.
