GT 1040 and GTX 1050 specs rumored–Not bad actually

Djole123

Now that we covered a lot of higher end Pascal cards, I will give you some info on lower end Pascal cards, specifically the GT 1040 and GTX 1050.

For the GTX 1050, we have a 4GB of video buffer, which will be 128-bit clocked at 1750MHz (7000 effective).

Base clock for this card is 1000MHz, boosting up to 1100MHz. It will be running off a PCI-E Gen 3 speeds, so keep that in mind.

Also, it will be based off a 16nm core with 1024 stream processors.

And here comes the lower end part, I found a specsheet on a GT 1040, so let's have a look, shall we?

This card is suprisingly uninteresting. It will have a same 16nm core but with less stream processors (640 to be precise), but it will have the same memory and GPU clock. Also it will have only 2GB of frame buffer, and it will be ran off PCI-E Gen 3.

Suprisingly, I couldn't find any article telling about these cards, so I will put a specsheet instead.

Great, another 4GB buffer with a 128 nit bus. Did they not learn with the 960?

If Nvidia gives me proper hardware that won't bottleneck the poor 1040, I might be posting some benchmarks.

A process shrink or not, it's a rebrand when everything else is the same - except clockspeed and temps

If it's the same core on a lower node, that only means lower power draw and higher clocks - still can be a rebrand

A lot of people were surprised when I told them how often the 750 Ti got rebranded and I found that odd (750 Ti core is the same as the 860M and 960M on mobile as well as the 850M and 950M) - the 750 Ti also got an "update" a few months ago being classed as GM207 IIRC so expecting it to become GP108 is not unreasonable considering that Pascal is essentially an updated Maxwell with proper compute functionality.

Rebrand has a very specific meaning. Die shrink is the correct term to use here (assuming everything else is the same).

Well i except that. They improper the efficiency and sell the higher card end card for less. Liek is that not what happens all the time. And if you have a good bang for your buck card. Why make a whole new one.

LIke that is logic don't you think
