So after reading up, people are suggesting there's no point in upgrading to an i7, if you're only planning on gaming.

My current Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H1M-D2V (apparently I need an upgrade) for it to compatible with the CPU or something?

I have a few questions:

Question #1: What motherboard shall I buy? and what is the true purpose of a motherboard.

Question #2: Will I have to buy new RAM?

Question #3: If I ever decided to overclock, would I need to buy a new PSU? or is 500W enough?
Question #4: Do you think this is a good build? (btw I also have a 1TB HDD but it's unplugged within my system - idk how).

The mobo depends on what you need and/or want. Preferably get a gaming overclocking edition mobo.

What ram have you currently got?

There's no need to upgrade as 500W is more than enough.

Yes, it looks good. (Some super enthusiasts might pick out some irrelevant stuff and argue it.)

I suck a typing, preparw for typos.

I didn't actually know Motherboards impacted your computer as much as you're suggesting. I'll do a little research on them. I've got 8GB of DDR3 @ 1600 (I think).

The ram seems all good.

Overclocking your CPU has 3 main factors:

1. CPU type

2. Power supply

3. Motherboard

That's because if you get a non-overclocking mobo you most likely won't be able to achieve a stable OC.

Any recommendations for a Mobo to go with the CPU? I don't care too much about OC.
