Thg thing is, you can only play Steam games if you install this. If you want to play Battlefield 4 or an indie game that's not on steam. You won't be able to.

I will be getting it for my Desktop. Someone will probably come out with a Desktop mode for the SteamOS, maybe even Steam will. I am really excited for this because I can finally get rid of Windows, not that I dislike it but they are moving in a completely different direction to what PC gamers want.

You can play any Linux game I guess, it's a linux distro.

 

There aren't enough Linux games; that's the challenge for Valve. Although we can install windows if we want; they won't take away that ability; it's still a pc.

Will take some time, Windows has too many games. Linux doesn't yet. We will have to dual boot :P  for a while

If anyone can do it Valve can, though im still convinced Linux will never be the gaming platform of choice in my lifetime.

 

Not on the edge of me seat but we'll see where it goes.

I think what a lot of people are missing is that GabeN has been alluding to Linux being the future of gaming and he means it. If this can bring devs to Linux and Hardware companies, cough Nvidia, onboard then I won't have to put up with Windows anymore.
