Is OCZ Trion 150 240GB reliable?

I would like to know about its reliability, as I am thinking of upgrading to it from my Samsung 840 Series SSD and a previous OCZ drive I owned 3 years ago had failed after 6 months of use...

And will it offer any performance gains (If you know)?

OCZ drives are very reliable

the Trion 150 specifically has phenomenal enterprise level data integrity protection during a power loss

it does however suffer from performance inconsistency with heavy workloads

either way the performance is still leaps ahead of mechanical drives

 

840 Evo specifically had (still has, but it's been masked with newer firmware) major design flaws which caused the drive to lose data

 

for massive storage I'd still suggest using mechanical hard drives,

if you still want very fast high capacity storage then I'd go with Samsung 850 Evo or OCZ Trion 100 / OCZ Trion 150 whichever is cheaper

and if you're all about the performance then get Samsung 950Pro or OCZ Vector 150
