Hey, Just a simple question.

If I install Windows 10 64 Professional onto an SSD, can I swap the SSD around to use multiple PC's? For hardware testing, troubleshooting, etc?

It would really suck if I needed to buy 10 or 15 copy's of windows for this..

Thanks

i dont think so buttttttttt

wort case scenario is that you will have a activate windows logo in the corner

So, The question remains. All of the PC's that linus builds for the sake of it, Is he buying a copy of windows for every single one of them?

No. All answers above are correct. But none has given full answer. So I'll summarize.

As long as you don't activate Windows, you can swap it around without issues. Windows has 30-day trial which is enough for benchmarking and testing. After that, and if drivers won't co-operate, you can just reinstall and gain another 30-days.

If you activate OEM copy of Windows, it will be tied to first motherboard activation is done on. After that it refuses to be activated on new systems. If you have retail key, you can use it on another mobos. But only one activation at the time. So if you activate and swap to another mobo, you need to reinstall and activate again.
