+1 on that, if get 850.  I have crucial too, it's been pretty good, my san disk seems to have slowed down after a while... But my 850 has been amazing.

Also, ya, like some one else said, don't clone.  Fresh install is better.  However, don't wipe your old hdd until you test the ssd, and have everything working first,.

I wouldn't get a Kingston SSD seeing as they deceived and fucked all their customers with a bait and switch with their V300's for quite some time.

850 Evo is probably the best out there imo.

I'm using an 850 Evo, a BX100 and some Sandisk SSD Plus SSD, had no concerns with any of them. Would recommend the 850 Evo above the others because faster.

Thank you all guys I am going with  850 evo 250GB and another 500GB.

I am looking forward to upgrade to a SSD. I have the 850 Evo in my mind but I also consider some other options from Adata or Kingston. I mainly want the SSD as a boot drive and some games as I currently have a HDD. Any suggestions about price to performance ratio??
Also can I just clone my OS and keep the rest of the programs on the HDD?

This x infinity. I'm still using one of those V300s and it works well enough, but they should have sold it for what it is. Personally, with so much choice in the vendor arena I'm not likely to ever buy Kingston again.

My Fiancee rocks a 840 Evo 120gb for Windoze and a 500gb 850 for games/programs. I'm much happier with how consistent the user experience is on her system (which used to be my system with this Kingston SSD, so...)

tl;dr Samsung drives are wonderful and easy to get cheap. 5 minutes of Googling has revealed $197 for a 500gb 850 at a local retailer after a price match - that's basically unbeatable.
