Its 120mm heatsink. If fan would have 120mm mounting holes, you could use it. But you aren't going to benefit anything from air blowing around sides.

A traditional 120mm fan is usually smaller than the heatsink it's on and doesn't blow through the corners. A 140mm fan with 120mm mounting holes would be quieter and perform better. There are tests with NF-P14's and NF-P12's that show this and heatsinks that come with either a 140mm fan or 120mm fan at different price brackets.
